Election Day is just around the corner. In this election, perhaps more than any other in history, science and technology issues are in the forefront due to such topics as oil dependency, energy and the environment. According to a national survey conducted by Research!America and ScienceDebate2008, 85% of US adults want to see Obama and McCain debate on science and technology issues.
I don't know about you, but I'd sure like to see these guys duke it out on broadband, climate change and energy (just to name a few).
ScienceDebate2008 is a grass roots organization backed by an amazing group of Nobel Laureates, Politicians, University Presidents, as well as various business leaders, scientists and writers. In August and September of 2008, ScienceDebate2008 posed 14 questions to the candidates related to innovation, climate change, energy, education, national security, pandemics / biosecurity, genetics, stem cells, ocean health, water, space, scientific integrity, research and health.
Obama and McCain both posted wonderfully detailed responses to these 14 questions, which you can read
here.
