For the second year, Civitium has sponsored Team Velocity for the Tybee 500, a 550 mile catamaran race from the Florida Keys to an island just off Savannah, GA. Civitium Sr. Partner Bailey White finished Day 1 on Monday with the team, coming ashore in second place at 6:06pm in Hollywood, FL.
The racers use only the wind to make the trip over 6 days, with the lowest total time across the 6 legs winning overall. Team Velocity is a unique group of people from Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. The team trains together year round to develop their abilities and counts over 40 people in sailors, ground crew, bloggers, and coordinators for this year’s Tybee.
It takes an incredible amount of leadership and teamwork, as well as an attitude where no one cares who gets the credit, to do the race and work as a team. For this reason, Civitium continues to be proud to be a part of it.
